This year the Metropolitan Chapter is forty years strong. Our anniversary is more than just a chance to celebrate the good work our members’ steady support has enabled us to accomplish; it’s an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the tremendous work still ahead. Joining the Metropolitan Chapter today will help sustain our momentum as the Chapter continues to plan for the future.
Your membership means:
Your contributions enable us to continue providing our free lecture series, grants and tributes that honor worthy preservation projects, and Victorian Society summer school scholarships to rising stars in the fields of preservation and Victorian studies. Members also give us the foundation we need to stand strong to protect and promote our city’s 19 th- and early 20 th-century heritage. Our first project funded by the Chapter's Margot Gayle Fund for Preservation of Victorian Heritage, a survey by Andrew Scott Dolkart of cast-iron-fronted buildings that are not protected by Landmark designation, was recently completed. Honoring eminent historic preservationist Margot Gayle and her invaluable contributions in the founding of the Victorian Society, the fund enables us to regularly award monetary grants to projects, such as this one, related to the preservation or conservation of Victorian material culture in the New York metropolitan area.
Please take a moment to join now so that we can welcome you among the friends that help us make all of this happen!
